Maria Daly MGHT

My name is Maria and I have been practising as a massage therapist for two years. Having developed my understanding of Shiatsu (the art of acupuncture without needles) and massage over many years, when the opportunity to build a combined practice of my own presented itself, I seized the opportunity.

Seated Acupressure Massage is based on the principles of acupuncture; that is, it works on the meridian lines of energy that run along the body. Its intention is to release any blockages which might be present, and facilitate the correct flow of energy around the system. The fingers and hands are used to manipulate specific points on the body, leaving the patient feeling relaxed, yet energised.

This type of massage is gentle, relieves stress, and is an excellent way to unwind. It is performed on a specially designed chair with the patient fully clothed, and takes no more than half an hour to complete.

Fees:                £30.00 per half hour session

Availability:       Tuesday and Thursdays, 6pm – 9pm and Saturdays,  9am – 1pm

To book an appointment, please call me, Maria, on 07541 798 831 or Valerie on 07799671881.

There may be times in our lives when we experience feeling of being overwhelmed or that we cannot cope. These feelings can impact into other areas of our life. Our personal life, our relationship with others, our work or our studies, may be effected making us feel unable to live in a positive or fulfilling way.

Feelings such as anger, grief, anxiety and loneliness can be distressing and cause concern, especially if they have been with us for a long period of time.  Counselling can help you to explore and reflect upon these feelings. It can help you to understand what is at the root of the distress, and can help you to work towards resolving these concerns.

I provide counselling in a safe, impartial and confidential space in which you can explore your feelings. The sessions are always professional in a confidential setting, safe in the knowledge that what you say will be respectfully listened to; talking to someone can sometimes help us to understand what is making us feel a certain way.

Counselling is a confidential talking therapy and may provide extra support outside your network of family and friends. Seeing a Counsellor for the first time can feel overwhelming and you may feel uncertain about sharing personal information with a stranger. I understand these feelings and I can offer you a safe, quiet and uninterrupted space, where we can work together in a confidential, non-judgemental and empathic environment, while maintaining safe, professional boundaries.

I have gained experience of working with Adults, young people, children and couples in a community counselling service, dealing with a wide range of issues including: domestic and child abuse, drugs and alcohol addiction, depression and anxiety, bereavement and loss, and relationship difficulties.

What you bring to the session is always confidential. The model that I work with is integrative and uses a broad spectrum of psychotherapy, allowing me to work with you individually. I provide services where you will be able to explore your thoughts, feelings and current difficulties. I will help you as best as I can, with whatever you may need. I can provide long or short-term therapy depending on your needs and financial situation.

Fees for a 50 – minute session are £45.00.

MBACP Accredited Counsellor & Supervisor (Dip Integrative Counselling, Dip Supervision)

I am a qualified, professional BACP Accredited Integrative Counsellor, working with both individuals and couples.  With over 16 years experience, I provide a safe, confidential environment in which you can discuss your feelings and concerns without judgement.

People may seek therapy because they have reached a crisis point in their life and are struggling to cope alone. Others make contact because they feel stuck or have become aware that they keep falling into unhelpful behaviour or thought patterns which prevent them from living life to the full.

My aim is to help you work towards gaining a greater understanding and awareness of the way you feel or behave.

My experience includes working for Bexley & Greenwich Resource for Alcohol, and for Family Matters (counselling adult/child survivors of sexual abuse.) I have also worked in the private and NHS care sector, which has given me the discipline and grounding now integral in my practice.

As an Integrative counsellor, I don’t adhere to one specific counselling model but draw from several approaches including humanistic, psychodynamic, transactional analysis, systemic and cognitive behavioural therapy. Every client is unique and so I will adapt my way of working to what we both believe might work best for you.

I can offer short or long-term support for the following issues: Relationships, Anxiety and Depression, Addictions, Bereavement & Loss, Sexual Abuse, Trauma, Affairs & Betrayals, Anger Management, Low self-confidence/esteem, Pregnancy & birth, Work related stress, Redundancy, Domestic Abuse, Terminal illness.

I offer a free telephone assessment beforehand.  This gives you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have beforehand about counselling.

My fee is £55 for individuals and £60 for couples.  I can offer a reduced fee in special circumstances.

I hold a Diploma in Supervision, and since 2007, have supervised both qualified practitioners as well as trainees.

Supervision is provided on a monthly basis to a minimum of 1.5 hours in line with BACP and UKCP requirements.  However, where additional supervision is provided elsewhere, the supervisee’s individual needs can be met as appropriate.

Fees start from £50, dependant on supervision requirements.
